Julie Genda McKinney is an artist living in the thriving Serenbe community located in Chattahoochee Hills Georgia. Her degree in Communicative Arts and her graphic design career flowed naturally into Julie’s creative exploration of the fine arts, from painting to ceramics to creating unique pieces of jewelry.
As a painter, I use various mediums to capture the light and create depth in my work. Recently, I’ve been painting on reflective surfaces, layering translucent paints with other mediums, including wax, objects from nature and gold leaf.
My work often crosses over the lines of perception between abstract and realism. Currently, I’ve working on my Gingko Collection, a series of paintings incorporating preserved Ginkgo leaves.
Julie relishes working in her home studio and exchanging ideas with the many other artists living in her community.
